Course content

In this course you will deepen your grammatical knowledge und expand your general and business vocabulary. You’ll learn to express your thoughts on complex topics fluently. Your reading and listening skills will be further trained and strengthened. With writing practice as one of this course’s focal points, you will be able to write detailed, clear texts on various topics and correspond professionally upon completion. In addition, you’ll learn to write a modern job application and master real-world business situations such as meetings and interviews. Toward the end of the course, particular emphasis is placed on preparation for the DTB (Deutsch Test für den Beruf) exam.

Course content

A near-native level of German is required in many professions. This course builds on the skills learned in B2, bringing you closer to your goal to express yourself fluently, spontaneously and with sophistication in a variety of everyday and professional situations. You’ll learn to understand complex spoken and written language and write clear, well-structured texts in the appropriate tone for various situations. At the end of the course, particular attention is given to preparation for the DTB (Deutsch Test für den Beruf) exam.

In order to work as a doctor in Germany, you must have a solid command of German at a C1 level and pass the specialist language test for the medical associations of the federal states. To take this course, you should already have competencies at a B2 level.

In a small group, we will prepare you thoroughly for the exam, but not only that.
You will also learn how to express yourself appropriately and clearly in various hospital case-study situations and practice how to use the German language independently and flexibly.

In typical conversational situations (consultations amongst doctors, discussions with patients and relatives) you will hone your linguistic expression, consolidate your writing skills and acquire the necessary background knowledge about the medical world in Germany.

Through these methods, you are not only well prepared for the exam, but also for your future professional activity as a doctor.
 

Course content

If you are looking to work in Germany in a profession such as a teacher, lawyer or psychologist, you will need language skills at an academic, almost native-speaker level.

Normally, such language skills can only be acquired if you have been living in Germany for quite some time and have been preparing for the C2 exam over an extensive period of time. That's why this course is part-time and designed over a period of eight months: you will need staying power and a lot of time and energy to reach a proficiency level of the German language.

The basic requirement for this online course is a formal language certificate successfully completed at the C1 level. The course will conclude with the "telc German C2" exam.
