A DAAD language certificate is required when applying for a scholarship from the Deutschen Akademischen Austauschdienstes (DAAD) for an internship or for studying abroad. This is a language certificate that is valid for between one to two years. The test result should not be equated with an internationally recognized language qualification.
At the anglo-german institut you can take the DAAD test for the English language.
The DAAD test checks all the language skills (reading comprehension, writing, speaking and listening comprehension). These four skills are individually assigned to the appropriate level (A1, A2, B1, B2 or C1) based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) and the results are entered on the DAAD language certificate form.
For the DAAD test you have to bring an English-language motivation letter with you which serves as evidence for the written part of the test. During a short conversation with the examiner, listening comprehension and speaking are evaluated. Reading comprehension is tested with a short text.
- You will receive the signed proof of language proficiency immediately after the 30-minute test.
