The most important answers to the most frequently asked questions about the telc exam
- Who can register for a telc exam at the Anglo-German Institute?
In principle, anyone can register for a telc exam. All participants must have a valid ID card or passport.
- I have registered for an exam. When will I find out the time of my exam?
After the registration deadline, you will receive an email with the schedule as well as all further information about the exam day.
- Where can I find the rules for telc exams?
Before the exam, you will receive an email from us with the telc examination regulations. On the exam day, you confirm with your signature that you have read the examination regulations.

- What do I need to bring on the exam day?
On the exam day, you should bring the following:
- ID card or passport with a photo.
- Pencils, eraser, and pencil sharpener.
- a transparent water bottle without a label.
- possibly something to eat for the break.
- How do I enter my answers on the answer sheet?
The answer sheet must be filled in with a pencil in telc exams; otherwise, the exam will not be evaluated.
- Are the oral and written exams held on the same day?
Yes, both parts of the exam take place on the same day. Usually, the written exam is held first, followed by the oral exam. There is always a break between the two parts of the exam.
- Can I retake the exam?
Yes, you can retake the exam as many times as you like.
- How and when will I receive the result?
You will receive an email with a digital certificate or result sheet approximately four to six weeks after the exam. The document is issued digitally and does not need to be printed.
