B1 Preliminary (PET)
A Preliminary qualification shows that you have mastered the basics of English with practical language skills for everyday use.
- The exam corresponds to level B1 and thus the level for the middle school certificate.
- The exam tests all four English language skills – reading, writing, listening and speaking.
- Certificate is valid for life and internationally recognised.
Fees
- Paper-based €155
The written and speaking exams usually take place on the same day. If the number of registrations is very high, the speaking examination will be held on one of the days within the specified time frame.
Late entries can be accepted under certain circumstances, in which case an additional fee of €60 will be charged.
