Government ­financial support: Prämiengutschein

A Prämiengutschein or Bildungsprämie is financial support from the Federal Ministry for Education and Research. It covers 50% of course, material, exam and registration fees for training costs up to a total of €1000.

You are eligible for a Prämiengutschein every two calendar years if you satisfy the following conditions:

  • You have had your 25th birthday
  • You work at least 15 hours per week or you are a on parental/care leave
  • You earn a taxable income under €20,000 (joint income of €40,000).

Step 2: Prepare for your consultation

Consider which career goals the training will further and what kind of training you would like. Keep in mind that one-to-one lessons are not covered by Prämiengutscheine. If you need help, contact us for a consultation.

Step 3: Make an appointment with a consultation centre near you

Find a centre near you here and make an appointment. Don’t forget to bring the following:

  • Valid photo ID
  • Proof of employment
  • Tax declaration from the last year or the year before last
  • Non-EU citizens also need a valid work visa
